Working from home has a lot of perks but sometimes there are things you don’t expect but are bound to happen to you. Here’s some things no one tells you about when working from home so you won’t get caught off guard:
I can’t work around my kids
You’d think pursuing a WFH career means having to spend more time with your kids but once you start working you realize working with your kids around is harder than you thought. You juggle between giving your kids attention or getting work done plus making sure your home is well-kept.
What am I doing?
The difference between outside jobs and working from home is that the latter is able to give feedback and direct confirmation during training or even at work. So you always know what to do and how to do it. Working from is quite different and oftentimes you feel like you don’t even know what you’re doing.
No one does the chores
You’d think working from home would buy you some time to better keep up your house, but you feel the need to work every moment you’re alone. Plus, you’ll realize you make more of a mess since you’re home all day and you eventually learn to live with it.
I need motivation
At the beginning, when someone asks you if you are a motivated person, for sure you’d answer yes with confidence! But when you start working from home, you realize it takes a lot of mental effort to keep yourself on track with your tasks and that you’re not really a highly self-motivated person.
Sweatpants are all that fits me!
Gone are the days you’ll wear slacks or dress shoes! Your wardrobe will consist of sweatpants/shorts, oversized shirt, a messy bun and you’re good to go! Some even work with their birthday suit on!
