WFH: Finding your flow

Writer's picture: Barbara CarubioBarbara Carubio

I’ve been working from home for a few years already and I have to admit I did struggle to find my groove because my schedule changes everyday. When I learned to just go with the flow, working became a breeze and I didn’t feel much stress as I did before. Here are a few tips to help you find your flow:

  • Try a new thing

Although sticking to a routine works for most people, sometimes circumstances change and it throws off your balance. Try switching up your routine every now and then to see what works for you.

  • Sneak in a workout

Always put your health over your work. Some might think that exercising will disrupt your work but it actually helps you get your flow in plus it keeps you healthy! Try to add at least 30 minutes to an hour of exercise into your routine and you’ll be surprised how it’s gonna spruce up your wfh life.

  • Take a break, for REALS!

You might feel guilty when taking breaks sometimes but don’t ever feel bad about it. For some, the more breaks they take the more productive they become but if that doesn’t work for you, that’s fine too. Taking your necessary breaks, whether quick or not, will surely help you get into the flow.

  • Don’t lose your passion

Remind yourself what made you decide to work from home, whether it’s more time with your kids, or control over your schedule. Sometimes we get caught up in the work itself that we forget why we started in the first place and that lost passion disrupts our flow. Always remember what drives you or else you’ll be working miserably the entire time.
